Nomadic Rhizome
200A Studio: Introduction to Design
Ron Rael with Kyle Steinfeld + Eleanor Pries
We were asked to design a proto-architecture exploring structure and envelope from two separate starting points. For the exterior, I studied the skin of the common celery root, using its hairy roots to inspire sensory aperatures. For the ‘bones’, I aggregated a notched ring shape to form a tumerous cloud. The final proposal was an amorphous dwelling that could wander over the landscape.
